The Lord in the Details of Our Lives By Jenn H.

When Elder Rasband gave his talk in October called “By Divine Design” it reminded me once again to look for those moments when God is truly guiding my life much better than I ever could have planned. Elder Rasband said, “He is in the small details of your life as well as the major milestones.”  So many times I don't realize how much my Heavenly Father has been in the details of my life until I look back. That is more obvious in the bigger decisions in my life, but He is involved in the simple details also. One experience comes to mind where I can see so many details He was involved in.   Graduation was nearing for Dave from Utah State University, and we were deciding where we needed to be.  An offer came for an interview at Micron in Boise. That job made so much sense for our young family. His dad had passed the year before, so it made sense for us to be near to his mom and his younger brothers still living at home. My mom was going through chemo treatments for breast can

He Is Here For Us Forever and Ever ~ by Nanette P.

"Forever and Ever" by Greg Olsen I love this picture.  One day, as I was shopping at a LDS bookstore, I happened on a lot of neat Jesus pictures.  When I returned home, I started going through my treasures.  When I came to this particular picture, it grabbed at my heart.  So I framed it and positioned it my living room to be viewed at all times. It was comforting to gaze upon.  Wondering about the child.  Having the Lord's full attention.  One day I wished I was that child.  Knowing that I am a child, a child of God, I imagined myself sitting on His lap. It was so comfortable and loving.  My life was not going too well, so I placed my head on His shoulder and started pouring out all my grief's and pains, leaving no stone unturned.  He listened intently.  When I was through, I could feel His arms around me.  Letting me know everything would be okay. He was here for me. I gave Him a great big hug and kissed His cheek knowing everything would be fine.  I fel

On Anger and Getting Older ~ By Angela C.

I recently experienced the last day of my 20s. I wanted to make sure my day was full of things that were of value to me in my 20s that I wanted to continue to place value in as I entered a new decade of life. The day consisted of scripture study, journaling, yoga, and service. It also felt really important to make it to the temple, but for whatever reason I made it there much later than I had planned. As I was walking in, I saw a couple, who I assumed were not members because of how they were dressed and the fact that they weren’t carrying temple bags. The gentleman half of this couple was very apparently angry. “Are you a member of this church?” he vehemently asked me. “Yes,” I responded. “Can you tell me why they won’t let me in? We are Catholics. Devout Catholics. I’ve been all over the world and visited temples, mosques, churches and cathedrals. And every religion lets me in to their houses of worship to see what they do. You will not. Why?” I began

It's the Little Things ~ By Kimberly P.

Welcome to our brand new Sweetwater Sisterhood blog!   Our first post comes from Kimberly P.   Thanks for your willingness to share and be the first Kimberly! I don’t have grand miracles happen often in my life. I usually have small miracles that strengthen my testimony little by little.   I had two small experiences recently that have increased my understanding and testimony of service: A couple of years ago my family caught a cold, and it hit me hard. We had just found out I was pregnant but weren't announcing it yet. I felt terrible, but didn’t feel like it was worth it to bother anyone to ask for help. A sister from our ward sent me a text asking if they could bring dinner to our family since we were sick. I responded with something about it just being a cold and not wanting to inconvenience her. She was persistent, and I was so grateful. I think sometimes it’s hard to accept service because we don’t want to “put other people out”. It was clear that t
